Troy Kent Guffey
Troy Kent Guffey, age 53 of Butler, Missouri died Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Belton Regional Medical Center in Belton, Missouri. He was born January 13, 1966 to Delbert Earl and Joyce Edrington Guffey in Columbia, Missouri.
Troy, one of three children, graduated from Butler High School in 1984. He furthered his education at Ozark Christian College, Missouri Southern State University and DeVry Institute and worked as a self-employed computer programmer. At age 15 Troy gave his life to Christ and became a Christian. He was a member of the Adrian Christian Church and currently attended the Double Branch Christian Church.
Troy was funny, quiet and very intelligent. He had a fondness for kittens and enjoyed reading and working with all things computers. He adored his nephews and nieces--spending time with his “little people” was his whole world . . . having attended Emily’s wedding in May and the baptism of Kaden and Greyson in July of this year. He would comment that if it was important to them, it was important to him.
Troy is survived by his parents, Delbert and Joyce Guffey of Butler, Missouri; one sister, Leisa Landis and husband Mark of Jefferson City, Missouri and their children, Justin Landis and Emily Stallings and husband Roosevelt; one brother, Lance Guffey and wife Julie of Ballard, Missouri and their children, Shelby, Rylee, Kaden and Greyson. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents.
