Rollin E. McCombs

Rollin E. “Samm” Mc-Combs, also co-owner of Home of the Toy Solider with his late wife Arvella (June) McCombs, formerly of Butler, MO and Waterloo, IA, passed away at home in Louisiana on 8/06/2019.

Samm was a veteran of the Korean War and awarded several bronze stars for his heroic achievement. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and infant son Daniel. Also preceding him is his heart, Arvella “June” Mc-Combs.

Samm is survived by six children, Rollinda “Chris” Brinyark, Fl., and Tonella “Toni” McCombs, Tracey McCombs Hines, Gail McCombs, Teri Mc-Combs and Glenn Mc-Combs, all of Iowa. He also leaves step children Brenda Dotson, NC, Linda Brinyark and Jimmy Brinyark, both of TN., many grand and step-grandchildren as well great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many friends.

Samm also leaves his close friends Duffy & Myrtle Landry and family and Pat & Darla Fitzgerald and family. Per his wishes, some of his ashes will be buried in the sand in the Gulf of Mexico. And Samm & June’s legacy of giving toys to the needy will live on, as promised.
