Michael Patrick Ragan
Michael “Mike” Patrick Ragan, age 71 of Butler, Missouri died Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born June 17, 1948 to Joel General and Theresa Rose Tuiet Ragan in Butler, Missouri.
Mike, one of three children, grew up in Adrian where he graduated from Adrian High School in 1966. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Army. For many years, Mike worked on the assembly line at Bendix Corporation. He later was employed at Ward Paper Box in Butler and bartended at Harrah’s Casino in Kansas City. A social butterfly, Mike loved talking and visiting--he never met a stranger. Mike was an avid collector of . . . well pretty much everything and liked being referred to as an “antique specialist.” He enjoyed showing off his old 63 Chevy Impala and turkey hunting in his younger years. He loved when his grandchildren came to visit. Often seen around town riding on his scooter, Mike affectionately became known to many as “Scooter Mike.”
Mike is survived by two sons, Tyler Ragan of Butler, Missouri and P.J. Ragan and wife Katie of Kansas City, Missouri; a daughter, Ky Brink of Chicago, Illinois; a sister, Pat Smith and husband Bob of Rich Hill, Missouri; and five grandchildren, Mikinzie Ward, Macy Ragan, Ella Ragan, Brody Ragan and Max Ragan. He was preceded in death by his parents; lifetime companion, Kathryn Brink; a brother, Randy Ragan; and a nephew, Brian Petty.
