Marie Emberton

January 13, 1924 - April 22, 2019

Marie Emberton, 95 of Butler, Missouri passed away Monday, April 22, 2019 at Medicalodge of Butler. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday, April 29, 2019 at the First Christian Church in Butler, Missouri. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 am to 11:00 am also at the church. Burial will follow services in Mount Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri. Services under the direction of Mullinax Funeral Home, Butler (660-679-0009). Memorial contributions may be made to the House of Hound Dog Rescue, Butler, Missouri. Augusta Sofie Marie Emberton was born on January 13, 1924 at 4437 Washington in Kansas City, Missouri to her parents Nicolaus Alexander Eugene Darmstaedter and Marie Friederike (Dannenberg) Darmstaedter.

Marie went to school in Kansas City, Missouri. She was married to Everett Jesse Mc-Brayer on August 31, 1941. They had three sons Everett Jesse Jr., Frank Lee, and Nicolaus Alexander McBrayer. Marie later married Fred Florian Speelman. They had a daughter, Jean Marie, and a son, Fred Florian Speelman II. She later married Henry Ary, then Randall Scott Emberton.

Marie worked at several jobs. Her first job was at Southwestern Bell Telephone in billing. Later she was employed by three different insurance companies in Memphis, Houston, and Kansas City. When she moved to Butler, Missouri in 1982 she worked assisting in the kitchen at a nursing home, then as a clerk at the Places store.

Marie was saved at the age of 72 and baptized a short time later at Eagle Heights Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri. She loved her Savior, dogs, and her family which she spent many loving years raising. She had many hobbies and spent most of her retirement time pursuing them. They included sewing, gardening, reading, puzzles, and crafts of all kinds. She also loved watching westerns and Animal Planet on the TV.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, four husbands, three sisters and two brothers. She is survived by all five of her children and their spouses, 36 grandchildren, 37 greatgrandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
