Kiley Ray Beard

Kiley Ray Beard, age 42 of Kearney, Missouri formerly of Adrian, Missouri passed away Friday, August 17, 2018 at his home in Kearney. He was born April 13, 1976 to Robert Dean and Ruby Jeanette Campbell Beard in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a happy child and like his father loved to tease and pull simple pranks on people. He grew up on a farm southwest of Adrian with his two older brothers. He attended Adrian Schools all 13 years, graduating in 1994. Kiley enrolled at University of Missouri–Columbia, majoring in mechanical and aerospace engineering, making the Dean’s list while in attendance. After graduation, he began work as a Project Development Engineer for IDI (Interconnecting Devices Incorporated, later renamed Smith Interconnect) located in Kansas City, Kansas. During his career he traveled extensively: Japan, China, Philippines, Arizona, and California to name a few. After 18 years of service, Kiley retired. Kiley’s plan after retirement in February was to purchase an RV and travel, making the family farm his home base. Kiley enjoyed riding his motorcycle and traveling with college friends on extended trips. Kiley is survived by his mother, Jeanette Beard of Adrian, Missouri; two brothers, Robby Dee Beard and wife Sylvie of Quebec, Canada and Marty Wayne Beard of Adrian, Missouri; one niece, Stacey Beard; an uncle, John Campbell and wife Connie of Kansas City, Missouri; two aunts, Louise Spencer and husband Jim of Warner Robbins, Georgia and Judy Kennedy of Overland Park, Kansas; and family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father in 2016; aunt and uncle, Ruetta and Earl VanSlyke; and uncle, Warren Kennedy. Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 24 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri with Rev. Cathy Myers officiating. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler, Missouri.
