Glen Warren Lewis
Glen Warren Lewis, age 97 of Butler, Missouri died Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Bates County Memorial Hospital in Butler. He was born September 24, 1922 to Claude Wallis and Edith Smith Lewis in Spruce, Missouri.
Warren, one of five children, grew up in Bates County, Missouri. After graduation from Butler High School in 1941 he worked for Pioneer Dairy until entering the Army where he served in the European Theatre during World War II. After being discharged he worked as a mechanic for Stantey Gray and Bitner Stark. He later owned his own mechanic garage and also farmed. On March 7, 1953 he was united in marriage to Wanda Lou Anderson. After retirement, Warren and Wanda spent most of their time camping and fishing.
Warren is survived by nephews, Brock Mullis and wife Karla of Butler, Missouri, Mark Mullis of Deepwater, Missouri, Tom Osborne and husband John Jenkins of Alexandria, Virginia and Bill Osborne of Wichita, Kansas, Lance Harris of Raytown, Missouri; nieces, Susan Evanoff and husband Gary of Deepwater, Missouri, Beth Alloway and husband Jay of Manhattan, Kansas, Merry Baxter of Shawnee, Kansas and Samela Wyele of Butler, Missouri; and a sisterin-law, Clara Sheehy of Butler, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and siblings.
