Francile Stanfill, age 97 of Amoret, Missouri died Monday, April 2, 2018 at her home in Amoret. She was born April 5, 1920 to Wade Hampton and Luvenia Woste Ruddell in Butler, Missouri. Francile, the youngest of nine children, was a lifelong resident of Bates County. She attended Prairie Rose Grade School. On January 18, 1938 she was united in marriage to Carl Walton Stanfill, and to this union four children were born. Francile was a homemaker all of her life, raising her four children. After the death of Walton in 1988, she married Paul Wadleigh who preceded her in death. Francile was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Amsterdam United Methodist Church. Francile, also known as “Grammie” to everybody, was a hugger! She was blessed with a unique personality and described as being loving and giving--but also somewhat stubborn, opinionated and ornery. She was an excellent seamstress and made nearly all of the kids clothes. Gardening, cooking, going to the playhouse and spending time with her family were some of her favorite pastimes. She loved riding and showing her Tennessee Walking horses and won many awards. Her dog “Karma” provided her with great companionship. Francile is survived by two sons, Carl Stanfill and wife Evelyn, Freeman Stanfill and wife Glenda all of Amoret, Missouri; two daughters, Fern Barber of Amoret, Missouri and Gloria Ann Huebert of Punta Gorda, Florida; 12 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; several step-greatgrandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; and nephews, nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Carl Walton Stanfill and Paul Wadleigh; grandson, Gregory Alan Nelson; five brothers and three sisters. *** Funeral services were 2 p.m. Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri with Pastor Julie Nelson and Gary Schowengerdt officiating.
