Dorothy Kincaid, 87 of Butler, Missouri passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at her home in Butler. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Monday, June 10, 2019 at the Church of Jesus Christ, 4 W. Pine Street, Butler. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, also at the church Monday. Cremation to follow services. Services under the direction of Mullinax Funeral Home, Butler (660-679-0009). Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of Jesus Christ or the HAE Association. Dorothy Mae Goold Mertell Carter Kincaid was born April 13, 1932 in Independence, Missouri to Walter Alma and Jessie Mae Baker Goold. She grew up in Independence and grad-uated from William Chrisman High School in 1950. She was united in marriage to Pete Mertell and three children were born to this union, Michael, Billie D., and Danny. Then on September 28, 1958 she married Robert “Bob” Carter three children were also born to this union, Richard, Rob, and Lisa. After Bob’s passing in 1997 she married Dale Kincaid.
Dorothy was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ Restoration Branch in Butler, Missouri. She enjoyed her time with the Red Hat Society of Mound City, Kansas, as well as her time she spent with the Bates County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
During Dorothy’s working career she held many different jobs. From 1972 to 1983 she worked for Marion Labs and received many awards for her accomplishments, and had fre-quent meetings with Ewing Kauffman. She spent many years driving a school bus in Mis-souri, Kansas, and Illinois. She also worked a time for Medicalodge Nursing Home in But-ler, Missouri.
Dorothy’s true passion in life was her horses. She loved to spend time riding them. She enjoyed her dogs, and time spent with family and friends. Dorothy will be forever missed for smile, wonderful sense of humor, and her ability to light up a room.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, a son Daniel James Mertell, son Michael Wayne Mertell, and by husbands, Bob Carter and Dale Kincaid. She is survived by her chil-dren, Billie D. Davis Moore of Va Beach, VA., Richard Carter and wife Lori of Butler, MO., Robin Carter and wife Dorothy of Butler, MO., Lisa Dorrell and husband J. D. of Osceola, MO., daughterin-law Teri Mertell, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, along with many close family and friends. The family wishes to thank all who spent time caring for Dorothy in so many ways.
