Benjamin ‘Joe’ Buffon
Benjamin Joseph “Joe” Buffon, age 74 of Adrian, Missouri died Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at his home in Adrian. He was born April 22, 1946 to George Elmer and Carrie Wittmeyer Buffon in Mexico, Missouri.
Joe grew up in LaMonte, Missouri. He graduated from Holden High School in 1964 and furthered his education at Avila University. On September 4, 1965 he was united in marriage to Mary Mc-Guire and to this union a son was born. Joe served his country in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968. He was a sheet metal worker by trade for many years, retiring in 2001. Joe was a member of the Adrian Victory Assembly of God Church, Adrian, VFW, Sheet Metal Workers Local #2 and the Western Missouri Antique Tractor and Machinery Association.
Joe enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing and wildlife photography. He had a lot of fun in “Joe’s Truck” - a 1949 red Chevy 3/4 ton with five windows. Joe had great pride in his John Deere tractor. He had a love for children--especially babies.
Joe is survived by his wife, Mary Buffon of Adrian, Missouri; one son, Clint Buffon and wife Francie of Shawnee, Kansas; two brothers, Robert Duncan and wife Vicki of Columbia, Missouri and Gene Buffon and wife Dianne of Clark, Missouri; two grandchildren, Connor and Marissa; and nephews and nieces. He was pre ceded in death by his parents; one brother, Charles Irwin Duncan; and two sisters, Pauline Phillips and Dada Lee O’Rourke.
Graveside services were held 2 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2020 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Butler, Missouri under the direction of Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555), Butler.
