Alice Corrine Hubbard
Alice Corrine Hubbard, age 92 of Butler, Missouri died Friday, April 19, 2019 at her home in Butler. She was born June 17, 1926 to Sam and Gladys Pool Ellis in Wellsville, Kansas.
Corrine, one of two daughters, grew up in Wellsville, Kansas where she attended school. She belonged to the Baptist Church in Wellsville. On November 21, 1942 she married Cecil A. Hubbard in Paola, Kansas and to this union three children were born. They lived in ElDorado Springs, Missouri prior to operating a dairy farm in Olathe, Kansas. They moved to Butler, Missouri in 1950 and had an orchard and opened and operated Hubbard’s Market until 1995.
Corrine was a very strong woman. After the death of her daughter, Ellen Scott in 1980, she raised and adopted two granddaughters. She enjoyed all of her grandchildren as well as walking, reading, cooking, sewing, shopping . . . and just keeping busy.
Corrine is survived by a son, John D. Hubbard of Archie, Missouri; two daughters, Angelia C. Berry of Butler, Missouri and Shaunna M. Petty and husband Dylan all of Adrian, Missouri; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cecil Hubbard; son, Gary Hubbard; daughter, Ellen Scott; and sister Genny Gregg.
Graveside memorial services were 2 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2019 at Adam Howell Cemetery, Amoret, Missouri with Bobby Roll officiating. Cremation and memorial services were under the direction of the Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri. Contributions to Susan G. Komen Cancer Research.
