VEX Robotics Tournament
Twenty-two robotic teams competed at Butler High School during a VEX robotics tournament. The VEX Robotics Competition is a robotics competition for elementary through university students. It is a subset of VEX Robotics, which is in turn a subset of Innovation First International. These robotics groups have the opportunity to design, build and compete with robots. The tournament started at 7:30 a.m. and lasted until 2:00 p.m. The winners of the tournament were Pleasant Hill Community team and Platte City High School who tied for 1st place, with the Butler High team finishing 8th. The VEX group or Butler High School Bearinators is an extracurricular organization dedicated to the development of successful future engineers. They strive to encourage and push those who aspire to be the most productive members of the engineering community. They create opportunities to broaden student minds and develop aspirations in technological fields.
