Valentine’s Day is here. The day of love is the day of asking that special someone in your life to be your Valentine. We Americans love, love, love Valentine’s Day. Valentines, chocolates, flowers, dinner, perhaps even drinks and dancing. It’s a day to celebrate Love and looking through the Museum’s collection of vintage Valentines, I couldn’t decide on just one, not even two or three. I had at least a dozen Valentines in front of me and every one of them was charming, lovely, funny, quaint, and innocent. Enjoy the ones I have chosen to share.
During the Super Bowl the commercials garner almost as much attention and critical commentary as the game itself. This year was no different except for one thing. I confess, here and now, that I did not understand or ‘get’ most of them. I honestly didn’t understand what I was watching, didn’t get the meaning, and most definitely had no idea what the heck they were selling.
