Elks Celebrate their 150th With Giving

On July 31st the Butler Elks Lodge #2653 served dinner during the Community Café in Butler.

The week’s café was held at the Happy Hill Church of God. There were nine Elks on hand serving hot meals to the community. But serving the immediate community was not the only thing the Elks did this night. You see the Elks organization is celebrating their 150th Anniversary; their anniversary date is February of each year. And this year the Butler Elks decided to share their celebration with the Community Café and their patrons.

The Elks’ portion of the celebration included giving the Community Café a check for $300.00, and providing two meals. The Butler Elks intent is to provide for the Bates County residents. In coming weeks you can expect to see more of the giving spirit by the Bates County Elks Lodge #2653.
