Butler City Council
This week’s city council started at its usual pace with approval of last week’s minutes and the approval of bills. There were five councilmen in attendance along with the City Clerk, Mayor, and City Administrator. There were no changes to the minutes. The Council moved right along to the unfinished business of reopening City Hall. City administrator West shared that they would like to reopen City Hall June 1st. They have been working on spacing and the proper equipment to be fully protected. They also have decided to post a sign to only allow five people in at a time. They’ve also been working to implement safety procedures due to the Covid-19 situation. There were several questions regarding the specifics of the safety procedures. The mayor admonished to put in a disclaimer that the date is subject to change.
The meeting then moved to reports. Cory Snead mentioned they have officially closed on the Spec building. A profit of $292,423 was made on the sale of that building after closing costs and other fees.
